WOBURN and DENVER, CO…

For franchisors, getting a new franchisee up to speed quickly not only makes them more profitable faster, but dramatically increases their connection to the success of the overall franchise on a long-term basis. While schools of thought on onboarding can vary, there are specific things that a franchisor can do to ensure the onboarding processes they implement increase ROI faster, engage franchisees for the long-term and make that initial transition smooth.

Faster and more effective onboarding is one of the topics being addressed at the two days of workshops at Franchise Operations Performance Summit (OPS) on July 22-23 at the Westin Hotel in Denver, Colorado.

“It’s natural to want your new franchisees to absorb every bit of information provided during the initial training, but that’s just not reality. Franchisors can dramatically improve the effectiveness of the initial onboarding plan by engaging new franchisees,” said Cordell Riley, president of Tortal and one of the speakers at Franchise OPS. “At Franchise OPS, we’ll be sharing the best onboarding practices and how to best engage franchisees from the get go so they are not only prepared to get their business off the ground on day one, but have resources from Day 2 on. The faster the franchisee gets into the program the faster the impact on sales and ROI for both the franchisee and the franchisor.”

Adds Riley, “When franchisors onboard properly, it makes a much stronger and lasting connection between that franchisor and franchisee.”

Other topics on Franchise OPS’ agenda include:

  • Technology for Field Consultants
  • Benchmarking
  • The Field Consultant of the Future
  • FDD Item 19 – How to Do It Right

In addition to Riley, Franchise OPS features a number of other franchise operations experts, including: Evan Hackel, Ingage Consulting; Bob Gappa of Management 2000; Rupert M. Barkoff of Kilpatrick, Townsend and Stockton; Keith Gerson of FranConnect; Eric Stites of Franchise Business Review; Mindy Golde of Listen360;Matt Talbot of GoSpotCheck; and Steve Abercrombie of Profit Soup.

“Part of what makes Franchise OPS different is the free flow of ideas from both the experts and attendees and that you leave with concrete actionable items that you can implement from day one upon your return,” said Riley, president of Tortal, an Ingage Consulting company that specializes in developing online training programs.

In addition to the educational benefits, roundtable discussions and networking opportunities with C-level franchise executives, Franchise OPS offers the added bonus of being approved for 300 CFE credits by the International Franchise Association.
